Pigs are considered unclean.
Perhaps one of the most well-known biblical food laws is the prohibition against eating pork. Leviticus declares the pig unclean because, while it has a cloven hoof, it does not chew the cud. This law forbids the consumption of all pork products, including bacon, ham, and sausage. 'And the pig... is unclean to you. You shall not eat any of their flesh...' — Leviticus 11:7–8 (ESV)
